Baby Names AI helps you find a name for your baby. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version
- There are no accounts, ads or tracking.
- To suggest names, the app sends your answers to our AI provider, currently OpenAI, but only after you allow it.
- Your family name, your saved names and everything else you enter stay on your phone.
What stays on your phone
- Your answers to the questions (your brief)
- Your family name
- The names you've been shown, saved or passed on
- Numerology readings you've opened
- How many names you have left
We don't keep a copy of any of this. Deleting the app deletes it, except your names-left balance: that's kept in your iPhone's keychain, so names you've paid for aren't lost if you reinstall. It holds only the number.
What we send, and who receives it

The app asks your permission before it sends your answers anywhere. Once you've allowed it, each time you ask for names it sends:
- your answers: who you're naming, the roots and traditions you picked, the style, sound and feel you chose, any letters or sounds the name should start with, your birth star if you chose one, and anything you type in
- names you love or want to avoid, including names you've saved, passed on or already been shown (so you don't see them again)
- for "More like this", the name you picked
It never sends your family name.

When you open a numerology reading, the app sends only the name you're reading about, nothing about you.
What OpenAI does with it
OpenAI uses this to write your suggestions and readings, and sends them back. It handles the data under its API data policies, which say it doesn't use data sent through its API to train its models.
Our server, hosted by Vercel
The app reaches OpenAI through our own small server, hosted by Vercel. It passes your request on and sends the names back; it doesn't save your answers in a database. Like any website, it sees your IP address when the app connects. Vercel keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, which can include your answers, so we can fix problems. They're deleted automatically after a short time.
Purchases: Apple and RevenueCat
Apple handles payment when you buy names; we never see your card details or Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to confirm purchases and add the names to your balance. RevenueCat receives your purchase details, linked to a random ID it creates rather than your name, email or Apple ID, along with basic technical details such as your iOS version, the app version and your country. Name cards you share
A name card is made on your phone. If you share one, it goes only where you send it.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites
- No analytics tools in the app
- We never sell your information
Your choices and rights
- Not now means nothing is sent. If you don't allow sharing, the app won't send your answers or ask the AI for names.
- Changing your mind. To withdraw your permission, delete the app. That removes your answers and your permission from your phone, and the app will ask again if you reinstall it.
- Deleting your information. Everything we hold about you lives on your phone, so deleting the app deletes it. Server logs are deleted automatically; if you'd like anything deleted sooner, message us on X.
- Your rights. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how it's used. Message us on X and we'll help.
We rely on your consent to send your answers to our AI provider, and on our agreement with you to process purchases.
Children
The app is for parents and parents-to-be. It isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Where your information is processed
OpenAI, Vercel and RevenueCat are based in the United States, so information sent to them may be processed there.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app uses your information, we'll update this page. If we move to a different AI provider, the app will ask your permission again before sending it anything.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts and the App Store badge from Apple, so those services see your IP address when the page loads.
